About Us

The Titletown Ultra Marathon event was dreamed up by two local runners (Ann Scholl and Jessica LeMere) who were interested in running further than 26.2 miles but without the distance constraints. The vision was to create an  opportunity for participants to push themselves beyond their perceived limits.

In 2011, a small group of 30 runners, including Ann and Jessica, toed the line at our first 6 Hour/8 Hour event on the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Arboretum Trail. The weather was sunny with temperatures in the upper 80s by noon. The finish line was filled with many joyful smiles as runners proved to themselves that they could go further than they thought possible! Many first-time 'Ultra' runners were born, including two runners who completed the 8 Hour event with over 50 miles!

Over the years, our event has grown larger. In 2012 and 2013, we had over 75 finishers, with most of those runners completing at least a 50K. In 2014 and 2015, our participation increased again to near 100 runners!

With the demand for a longer challenge, the 'Summer Solstice Challenge' was added in 2014. This event starts with the 6H/8H events at sunrise (around 5:10 a.m., depending on the year), but continues until sunset for a total of 15 and a half hours. Those completing the 15.5 Hour event typically finish with a range of 50 to 95.0 miles.

In 2018, we added a one-loop event on Friday evening of race weekend. The 4.75-mile Wolf Run Ultra 5K is more than 5K but less than a 10K - an Ultra 5K is born! With a two-hour time limit, this is a great trail run or walk for the whole family!

2020 will be our 10th Annual Titletown Ultra Series!
